# StudyStash and D2L Lumi

> Compare the study tasks covered by StudyStash and the D2L Lumi tools.

StudyStash and D2L Lumi have overlapping study features. Compare the tasks you need to support and the tools enabled at your institution.

| StudyStash | Work with course materials using notes, flashcards, practice tests and StudyChat. |
| D2L Lumi Pro | AI tools within Brightspace for content, quizzes, learning outcomes and study support. |
| D2L Lumi Tutor | A course-aware assistant and study activities within Brightspace. |
| D2L Lumi Chat | Help with Brightspace and, depending on configuration, approved institutional information. |

D2L features and availability depend on the institution’s package and configuration. ## Can StudyStash work with Brightspace?

Yes. An administrator can follow the [Brightspace setup guide](https://help.studystash.com/integrations/d2l-brightspace.md) to arrange the LMS integration.

## Do the study features overlap?

Yes. Both offer ways to work with course material. For a pilot, compare the activities your students will actually use, the materials available and the reporting you need. The [evaluation questions](https://help.studystash.com/educators/evaluation-questions.md) can help structure feedback.

## Does StudyStash send practice scores to the gradebook?

Do not assume that an LMS connection includes grade passback. [Contact support](https://help.studystash.com/support.md) to confirm any gradebook requirements for your setup. Students should follow their course’s formal assessment instructions.
